Abstract:

In a hand-held cutting machine for cutting a material by moving the cutting machine along an upper surface of the material, a regular inner-rotor type motor is used as a drive source. In this case, the motor is rotated at high speed for obtaining high output, and the speed is reduced by a speed-reduction apparatus so that an appropriate rotating number of a rotating cutter can be ensured. In this configuration, there have been the problems of noise, vibration, and the like due to the high-speed rotation of the electric motor. According to the present invention, in order to reduce noise and vibration of the cutting machine, a direct-drive system is employed in which an outer-rotor type electric motor (11) is used as the drive source, and a rotating cutter (12) is directly attached to an output shaft (11d) of the motor. The electric motor (11) is rotated at an appropriate rotating number for the rotating cutter (12), such as at about 6,000 revolutions per minute, so that the noise and vibration of the cutting machine (1) can be reduced.
