Abstract:

A cutting tool according to one aspect of this disclosure includes: an attachment part; a cutting part that has a core section and a surface section; and a joint part. The attachment part contains a hard component and a hard material. The hard component is obtained by selecting at least one from the group consisting of a combination of: at least one of TiC, TiCN, W, WC, Al2O3 and CBN, and diamond; and at least one of W and WC. The hard material contains one or more kinds of iron group elements and has a Young's modulus of 350 GPa or less. The core section contains a cemented carbide material. The surface section contains PCD or CBN. The cutting part has a chamfer. The surface section includes a groove, a flank, and a cutting edge. The cutting edge extends toward the attachment part. The flank is composed of a chamfer flank and a peripheral flank. The inclination of the chamfer flank with respect to the central axis is larger than the inclination of the peripheral flank with respect to the central axis.
