Abstract:

Disclosed is a resin composition containing a ring-opening copolymer (A) having a structural unit (1) derived from a cyclic olefin having a polar group and a hydrocarbon group and a structural unit (2) derived from an optionally substituted tricyclo[4.3.0.12,5]deca-3-ene or the like, and a ring-opening copolymer (B) having the structural unit (1) and a structural unit (3) derived from a cyclic olefin having no polar group. The resin composition is hardly gelatinized although it contains the ring-opening copolymer (A), which has been difficult to be filtered due to gelation. Consequently, the resin composition is excellent in filtering properties and suitably used for producing optical films and retardation plates. Also disclosed are an optical film and a retardation plate using the resin composition which are excellent in surface smoothness, and their production methods.
