Abstract:
A cyclic olefin ring-opened copolymer comprising an essential constitutional unit
(1) represented by the formula (1) and at least two other specific constitutional units.(1)
It becomes possible to provide a novel norbornene ring-opened copolymer which
has excellent heat resistance, processability and transparency, can be suitably
used in various types of optical films and, when formed into a retardation film,
can control the level of birefringence (phase difference) and wavelength dependency,
an optical member, a film or a stretched film formed from the copolymer, and a polarizing
plate or a liquid crystal display system using the stretched film.
