Abstract:
Disclosed is a cylinder block that, using existing equipment, can increase the cylindricity of a bore when fastening a cylinder head. Further disclosed is a method for machining same. The machining shape of the bore (111) is obtained on the basis of the amount of deformation of a data-acquisition bore (211) at the time of fastening the cylinder head (220). Here, the cross section of an approximate shape that approximates the deformed shape of the data-acquisition bore (211) is set to a nearly perfect circle shape, and in accordance with the degree of deformation of the data-acquisition bore (211), by means of changing the diameter of the nearly perfect circle shape along a central axis line, the approximate shape (shape indicated by line T) is determined, and so the approximate shape is a simple shape that is symmetrical with respect to the central axis line and forms a nearly perfect circle shape in a cross section. The machining shape of the bore (111) has a shape (shape indicated by line V) that reverses the phase of concavoconvexity with respect to the predetermined cylindrical shape of the simple approximate shape, and so the cross section thereof forms a nearly perfect circle shape forming a simple shape that is symmetrical with respect to the central axis line.
