Abstract:
In the present invention, flow paths 20, through which an electrorheological fluid 2 in an inner cylinder electrode 3 is made to flow from the upstream side to the downstream side in the axial direction by the movement of a piston rod 9, are provided between the inner cylinder electrode 3 and an outer cylinder electrode 18. Furthermore, introduction parts 21 for introducing the electrorheological fluid 2 from the inner cylinder electrode 3 to the flow paths 20 are provided. Spacers 22 are provided thereabove as magnetic field intensity reduction members comprising an insulator or a high resistor near the introduction parts 21 of the flow paths 20 so that the magnetic field intensity applied to the electrorheological fluid 2 in the introduction parts 21 of the flow paths 20 is less than the magnetic field intensity after having passed through the introduction parts 21.
