Abstract:

A cylinder injection spark ignition type internal combustion engine, wherein a cavity (30) having a bottom face (32) on which a projected part (32a) tilted downward toward the exhaust side and protruded from a center part to a wall surface on the intake side is formed in the top surface of a piston (6). A combustion spray (15) jetted from an injector (12) and passed through near the electrode part (14a) of an ignition plug (14) converted into an air-fuel mixture (15a) by the cavity, and guided again to near the electrode part of the ignition plug.
