The purpose of the present invention is to provide a damage diagram generation apparatus and a damage diagram generation method which enable changes over time of damage to be accurately and easily recognized. In accordance with a damage diagram generation apparatus and a damage diagram generation method according to one aspect of the present invention, a coordinate system is set for input images, and the images are combined with the set coordinate system as a reference, and therefore, a composite image made up of the multiple images combined accurately can be obtained to enable an accurate extraction of damage. In addition, when a composite image for which a coordinate system has already been set exists (i.e., has been recorded), the coordinate system for the input images is set on the basis of the coordinate system set for this composite image, and this enables the reference for comparison for the damage to coincide between the past and the present. Moreover, with the coincident reference for comparison, the extracted damage and the damage in the past are compared to generate and display a damage diagram, which enables changes over time of the damage to be accurately and easily recognized.
