Abstract:
Provided are: a damper which provides damping force in the entire stroke range; and a fall prevention device which is provided with the damper to satisfactorily prevent an article from falling over. A damper (10) is provided with a cylinder (11), a rod guide (12), a piston (13), a rod (14), and a cylinder member (15). The damper (10) has sealed in the cylinder (11) hydraulic oil (Y) and compressed gas (G). The cylinder member (15) restricts the position of the piston (13) so that, while the bottom of the cylinder (11) is located below an opening to cause the rod (14) to protrude upward from the cylinder (11) and while the center axes of the cylinder (11) and the rod (14) are tilted a predetermined angle relative to a horizontal plane, the piston (13) will be immersed in the hydraulic oil (Y) sealed below the compressed gas (G).
