Abstract:
A damper is provided with: a cylinder (21); a piston (22); a piston rod (23) inserted in the cylinder (21); and a coiled spring (24) for pressing the piston rod (23) in the direction in which the piston rod (23) extends. The coiled spring (24) has a densely coiled section (24a) and a coarsely coiled section (24b), which are configured from a wire (24w). The densely coiled section (24a) and the coarsely coiled section (24b) are formed so that the distance Pt between adjacent turns of the wire (24w) in the densely coiled section (24a) is relatively small in comparison with the distance Pt between adjacent turns of the wire (24w) in the coarsely coiled section (24b). At least the outer periphery of the densely coiled section (24a) is provided with an elastic member (25) for covering the densely coiled section (24a), and at least a part of the coarsely coiled section (24b) is exposed to the outside from the elastic member (25).
