Abstract:
Provided is a damper comprising a piston and a cylinder containing the same, for generating a damping force on the basis of the movement or the relative movement of the piston. The piston has a trunk section and a sealing ring wrapped around the trunk section; wherein a first sealing section for providing a seal against the inner wall of the cylinder is formed on an outer circumferential section of the sealing ring, and a second sealing section for providing a seal against a circumferential wall section that protrudes from the trunk section is formed on a front end section positioned on a pressure-chamber side; and a supporting rib section that permits the movement of the sealing ring within a prescribed range along the direction of movement of the piston is provided on the outside of the trunk section, in a state such that a fluid movement gap is formed between the trunk section and an inner circumferential section of the sealing ring.
