Abstract:
Provided is a damper that comprises a rod-equipped piston and a housing in which the piston is housed, wherein a braking force is generated by the action of the piston. The piston is provided with: a seal member that provides sealing for an inner wall of the housing; and a slider that contacts the inner wall of the housing with a prescribed frictional force. When the braking force is generated, the slider comes into pressure contact with the seal member in such a manner as to cause the portion of the seal member in contact with the inner wall of the housing to be deformed toward the outer side of the housing. Provided at the inner side of the portion of the seal member in contact with the inner wall of the housing is a deformation regulating part that inhibits the seal member from being deformed toward the inner side of the housing.
