Abstract:
The damping force generation mechanism of this damper is provided with: a valve body (31) through which a passage (76) extends, the passage (76) allowing an operating fluid to flow therethrough; a substantially circular outer seat (61) formed so as to protrude from the valve body (31) and surround the opening (77) of the passage (76); an inner seat formed so as to protrude inside the outer seat (61); and a disk (115) sitting on the outer seat (61) and the inner seat. The outer seat (61) has a gradually-decreasing-width section (65), the radial width of which gradually decreases toward the disk (115). When seated on the outer seat (61), the disk (115) radially faces the gradually-decreasing-width section (65). The flow path area between the disk (115) and the gradually-decreasing-width section (65) is greater when the disk (115) does not radially face the gradually-decreasing-width section (65) than when the disk (115) does.
