Abstract:
Provided is a damping force-adjusting shock absorber capable of making the dynamic characteristics of a movable core during displacement favorable. An electromagnetic damping force-adjusting device 17 of a damping force-adjusting hydraulic shock absorber 1 is configured from a damping force-adjusting valve 18 for generating the damping force and a solenoid 33 for variably adjusting the generated damping force. The solenoid 33 is provided with: a coil 39 for generating a magnetic force by the passage of electricity; a movable core 43 disposed on the inside of the coil 39 and provided so as to be movable in the axial direction; an anchoring member 40 for attracting the movable core 43; etc. The movable core 43 is configured from a thick-walled cylinder section 43A in which an anchoring hole 43A1 for anchoring a shaft 44 is provided and a tapered cylinder section 43B, the inner circumferential surface of which expands in a tapered fashion. Around the anchoring hole 43A1, concavities 43A2 that allow working fluid to flow through in the axial direction of the movable core 43 are formed.
