Abstract:

A damping valve is provided with: a valve seat member provided with a port; a valve body for opening and closing the port; a back pressure chamber for pressing the valve body toward the valve seat member by pressure within the back pressure chamber; a pilot passage for reducing pressure upstream of the port and conducting the reduced pressure to the back pressure chamber; and a pilot valve provided between the ends of the pilot passage and controlling the pressure within the back pressure chamber. The pilot valve is provided with: a pilot valve seat member having a tube-like valve-housing cylinder provided with a through-hole which causes the inside and the outside to communicate with each other and which connects to the port, the pilot valve seat member also having an annular pilot valve seat which is provided at an end of the valve-housing cylinder; and a pilot valve body having a large-diameter section, a small-diameter section which is inserted into the valve-housing cylinder in a slidable manner, and a recess which is provided between the large-diameter section and the small-diameter section and which faces the through-hole. The pilot passage is opened and closed by causing an end of the large-diameter section to be separated from and seated on the pilot valve seat.
