Abstract:
A data analysis device (10) uses a sparse group lasso to extract groups of important characteristics from multidimensional data, the device comprising: a matrix norm calculator (11) that calculates a norm for a Gramian matrix of provided data; a score calculator (12) that calculates, on the basis of the norm, a score for a group, from among groups of the data, that is an object of calculation; an omission assessor (13) that assesses, on the basis of the score, whether to omit calculation of a group that is an object of calculation; and a solver applier (14) that, when the omission assessor (13) reaches an assessment to not omit calculation of a group that is an object of calculation, applies, to said group, a process of calculating a block-coordinate descent used by the sparse group lasso to solve optimization problems.
