Abstract:
Disclosed are a data coding and decoding method and device in a PON system. The method comprises: collecting N data blocks in a physical coding sub-layer and combing the data blocks to generate valid data; generating a payload, the payload comprising the valid data; performing FEC on the payload to generate a checking part; and further generating a codeword structure, the codeword structure comprising the valid data, the checking part, and a synchronization header distributed independently from each other. The synchronization header may be positioned at the head or tail of the codeword structure, an FEC code pattern may be LDPC(18493,15677), and a line code may be 256B/257B. Therefore, quick synchronization can be implemented, and the bandwidth efficiency and error correcting capability can be improved. The codeword structure further comprises a filling part. The valid data and the filling part form the payload. Hence, all FEC patterns and all line codes can be effectively compatible and adapted. The filling part may be used as the synchronization header, and may also be used for indicating the length of the codeword structure, the length of the payload, or the like.
