This data collection device is a data collection device which is mounted to construction machinery and collects data that can be collected from said construction machinery. The data collection device comprises: a unit for generating a list of data that can be collected, indicating the types of data that can be collected from the construction machinery; and a unit for communicating the list of data that can be collected, which transmits, to an external device, the list of types of data shown in the list of data that can be collected.
