Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of terminals, and in particular to a data collection method for use in a cell phone anti-theft technology. The present invention automatically manages a cell phone mode when a shutdown verification fails, helps an owner quickly locate his or her lost cell phone, and at the same time allowing a manufacturer to collect use information on relevant technologies in a prompt and effective manner. Said method comprises: receiving an inputted signal requesting to shut down; prompting a shutdown password to be inputted; receiving the inputted shutdown password; determining that the inputted shutdown password is inconsistent with a preset shutdown password, and if the cell phone is in a silent mode, changing the mode of said cell phone to a ringer mode; alternatively, if the cell phone is in a ringer mode and a request for changing the mode of said cell phone to a silent mode is received, prompting once again for a shutdown password to be inputted, and if it is determined that the inputted shutdown password is inconsistent with the preset shutdown password, keeping the cell phone in the ringer mode, and sending technology usage data to a data collection terminal preset by the manufacturer.
