Abstract:
An improved construction of a compression function executing section is realized. Data is converted by means of multiple compression function executing sections arranged in multiple processing series receiving in parallel division data sets into which a message data set is divided. Each of the compression function executing sections receives each of the division data sets into which the message data set is divided and performs message scheduling processing by means of a message scheduling section and chaining value processing by means of a chaining value processing section which receives the output of the message scheduling section and an intermediate value, which is the output from the processing section of the previous stage and generates output data of a same number of bits as that of the intermediate value by data compression. The compression function executing sections share at least either the message scheduling section or the chaining value processing section and use a single message scheduling section or a single chaining value processing section. With this construction, a small-scale hardware structure and simplified process steps are realized.
