Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a data packet processing method, optical line terminal, optical network unit, and system. The method comprises: an optical line terminal generating and sending a data packet, wherein the data packet comprises a preamble and an ethernet packet, the preamble comprises a logical link identifier and a first field, and the first field is used to indicate at least one of a data rate or a modulation mode utilized by the optical line terminal to send the ethernet packet; and an optical network unit (ONU) receiving the data packet and parsing the preamble to obtain the logical link identifier and the first field; and if the logical link identifier matches the optical network unit, then the optical network unit demodulating, according to the data rate or modulation mode indicated by the first field, the ethernet packet, and parsing the demodulated ethernet packet. In this way, the optical line terminal can send various data packets on a same band, and prevent, when an upgraded PON system contains ONUs using multiple modulation modes, excessive optical assembly complexity and insertion losses caused by wavelength division multiplexing, thus realizing a smooth upgrade.
