Abstract:
One system in which the present invention has been applied is capable of accessing files. The one system is equipped with: symbol display means which displays a symbol representing an accessible file; extraction means which, if the symbol is being displayed by the symbol display means, extracts second data from among first data which are stored in a file represented by the symbol and are displayed by opening the file; and data display means which displays the second data which have been extracted by the extraction means. By displaying the second data, assistance is provided so that a desired file can be more easily selected by a user.
