Abstract:
The present disclosure pertains to a data processing device, data processing method, and program that make it possible to securely transmit biometric authentication results between chips. A first chip and second chip, according to the present disclosure, perform encryption and decryption using a first common key, and retain a first counter value. The first chip encrypts and transmits a command and the first counter value to the second chip, and the second chip encrypts and transmits a decrypted command execution result and a second counter value to the first chip. The first chip and second chip synchronize the first counter value and second counter value every time data is sent to or received from the other chip. The technology related to the present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a fingerprint authentication device.
