Provided is a data processing device that is equipped with a plurality of types of recording mediums and a data block managing device. The data block managing device sorts data blocks into a plurality of groups, and records each group in the corresponding recording medium. The data block managing device is equipped with a storing unit, a group restructuring unit, and a medium selecting unit. Access trend information that indicates the pairing trends between prior groups and subsequent groups is housed in the storage unit. The group restructuring unit references the access trend information to conduct group restructuring. More specifically, when the sequential access trends between two differing groups become stronger, the groups are combined to generate a new group. Additionally, when the sequential access trends for a group become weaker, said group is divided to generate new groups. The medium selecting unit records the new groups obtained as a result of group restructuring in the corresponding recording mediums.
