A data processing method, comprising: a card reader receives and parses a data packet that is sent by a host and that conforms to a first data structural formula; determining whether a first preset field in the data packet is the same as the address of the card reader; if so, then determining a data packet verification means, and verifying the data packet according to the data packet verification means; if verified, then determining whether the data packet contains security data; if so, then processing the security data in the data packet according to a key to obtain plaintext data, and determining a command type; executing a corresponding operation according to the command type and the plaintext data; and returning a response data packet conforming to the first data structural formula to the host. Also disclosed are a data processing apparatus and a computer-readable storage medium, which belong to the technical field of card reader communications. Said method uses the present invention, and communication data may be effectively prevented from being monitored, stolen and tampered with, thereby ensuring the security of data transmission.
