A data processing method and a related device. The method may be applied to the field of wearable devices in the technical field of computers. A first sensor and a second sensor are configured in two earpieces of earphones, and when the earpieces are worn, the first sensor and the second sensor respectively correspond to one of a helix region and an auricular concha region. The method comprises: when two earpieces are worn, acquiring a first measurement value by means of a first sensor, and acquiring a second measurement value by means of a second sensor; and determining, according to the magnitude relationship between the first measurement value and the second measurement value, a first detection result corresponding to the earpieces, wherein the first detection result is used for indicating whether each earpiece is worn on the left ear or is worn on the right ear. Whether each earpiece is worn on the left ear or the right ear is determined on the basis of the actual wearing condition of a user, that is, the user can arbitrarily wear earphones, such that the operation for the user is simpler, thereby facilitating the improvement of the user viscosity of the solution.
