Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a data synchronization method and a related device, which are applied in the field of data processing. In the method, when first L2P mapping data in a storage device is changed, a second version number and a third version number are first determined on the basis of a first version number and a version number sequence of the first L2P mapping data, and whether the second version number and second L2P mapping data are allowed to be synchronized to a host is determined by means of determining whether the third version number is the same as a request version number, such that it is ensured that the storage device can determine whether the L2P mapping data is the same by means of determining whether a version number of local L2P mapping data is the same as a version number carried in an IO read request. In addition, by means of the data synchronization method provided in the embodiments of the present application, there is no need to reclaim an in-transit read request before L2P mapping data is synchronized, such that the synchronization of the L2P mapping data and the issuing of the read request can be performed in parallel, and the IO performance of the storage device can be effectively improved.
