Abstract:
Disclosed are a data transmission method and apparatus. The data transmission method comprises: a terminal device establishing a mapping relationship from a device-to-device proximity-based service (D2D ProSe) protocol layer to a D2D shared transmission channel; the terminal device determining whether the number of bits of a first Discovery message generated by the ProSe protocol layer is greater than a pre-set threshold value; when the number of bits of the first Discovery message is greater than the pre-set threshold value, mapping the first Discovery message to the D2D shared transmission channel and transmitting the first Discovery message through the D2D shared transmission channel; or, when the number of bits of the first Discovery message is less than or equal to the pre-set threshold value, mapping the first Discovery message to a D2D Discovery transmission channel. In the above-mentioned solution, Discovery messages with different bit quantities can be flexibly transmitted, thereby improving the effectiveness of data transmission, and avoiding the case where a packet is lost because the number of bits of a Discovery message is greater than a fixed number of bits.
