The present invention falls within the technical field of communications and electronics. Disclosed are a data transmission method and data transmission apparatus. The method comprises: performing serial numbering on a small file to be transmitted; assembling the numbered small files to be transmitted according to a pre-set protocol format; sending, via a data transmission channel, a file generated after assembling; and acquiring a serial number of an unreceived small file according to received confirmation information, and sending the unreceived small file via the data transmission channel. In the present invention, by performing serial numbering on a small file to be transmitted and sending same to a receiver device after assembling according to a pre-set protocol format, the receiver device splits the received file according to the pre-set protocol format and then obtains a small file, the problem in the prior art of frequently establishing a connection during a file transmission process is solved; in addition, the small file is transmitted in a dynamic splicing mode after serial numbering is performed on same, and the problem that a single channel is in an environment where a network is unstable is solved.
