Abstract:
Provided in the present application are a data transmission method and a terminal device. The terminal device comprises a primary subscriber identification module (SIM) card and a secondary SIM card. The method comprises: when a primary SIM card detects that a specified event is started, a terminal device acquiring a remaining duration corresponding to a secondary SIM card; the terminal device determining a first preset duration corresponding to the specified event; and when the remaining duration is less than the first preset duration, the terminal device sending preset signaling to a network device by means of small-packet transmission. In the present application, whether preset signaling is transmitted by means of small-packet transmission can be determined according to the currently started event, such that the effect of the transmission of the preset signaling on data service of a primary SIM card can be reduced to a certain extent, and thus the usage experience of a user can be ensured.
