Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to carry out, in addition to a backup of job data, a sensing and prediction of an occurrence of a malfunction of a storage device. A gateway (200) registers, in a memory (211), job data which is accepted from a user terminal (100) and stored in a hard drive (105) and oscillation sensing information from an oscillation sensor (102), and transmits the job data to a MFP (300) thereafter. The MFP (300) registers the job data in a hard drive (305), and according to a request from the gateway (200), transmits, to the gateway (200), the job data which is registered in the hard drive (305) and oscillation sensing information from an oscillation sensor (303). The gateway (200) compares the data volume when the job data was registered in the memory (211) with the data volume of the job data from the gateway (200), and if there is a difference in the data volumes thereof, registers, in the memory (211), malfunction information relating to the hard drive (305).
