Abstract:

A database device provided with a database, a setting unit, a first registration unit, and a deletion unit. The database includes a plurality of mutually non-overlapping storage areas and stores one or a plurality of records including a validity period and data in at least one of the plurality of storage areas. The setting unit sets a timing on the basis of the state of a record, as a threshold time limit for determining that the validity period of a record stored in the database has expired. The first registration unit specifies a storage area, from among the plurality of storage areas, for which the validity period that is set is the latest among those registered and the threshold time limit of which is not yet reached, as an archiving object. Then, the first registration unit registers all records in the specified storage area to an archive file. The deletion unit deletes, from the storage area, all records in the storage area that are registered to the archive file.
