Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate duplicate transaction executions when a given instance of operation information is sent more than once from a client device. A database system according to an embodiment comprises: a plurality of server devices each of which stores a database, with one of the server devices acting as a master and at least one of the server devices acting as a slave which provides backup for the master; and a client device which transmits, to the master server device, operation information which gives instructions for operations to be carried out on the database. The client device appends, to the operation information, an identifier which identifies the operation information. Each of the plurality of servers further comprises: a data storage unit which stores the database; an operation unit which, according to the operation information which is received from the client device, changes the database which is stored in the data storage unit; and a log processing unit which appends the identifier of the operation information to a log of a database change in accordance with the operation information.
