Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a database system capable of performing rapid access on a network without using a medium different from a medium primarily accumulated and capable of performing stable backup of data without requiring manual operation. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] The database system includes a plurality of storage units (1) for accumulating image data, a control unit (2) for managing them, and a database server (3) for storing attribute information including key information correlated to the image data. The control unit includes: operation state check means for performing an operation state check, at a predetermined timing, for checking the remaining capacity data and presence/absence of an error in the storage unit and storing the check result in an operation state table; and redundant storage means for selecting and storing a redundant number of data storage destinations for the data storage request, from the storage units normally operating and identified according to the operation state table.
