Title:
DAZZLEMENT REDUCING GLASSES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/069306
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention concerns glasses, especially protecting from dazzlement, consist of rims with a cross beam where accessories of these glasses are attached. In the cross beam there are holes for beams of height-adjustable shades whose level is either below and/or above the horizon of the eyes of their user's filed of visions. In the middle of the cross beam there is a hole for a height-adjustable beam, equipped with a nose-rest with an area of contact seated on the nose of the person wearing the glasses.

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Glasses, especially protecting from dazzlement, consist of rims with a cross beam where accessories of these glasses are attached, characterized in that the cross beam there are holes for beams of heightadjustable shades whose level is either below and/or above the horizon of the eyes of their user's filed of visions.
2. Glasses according to the requirement 1, characterized in that the middle of the cross beam there is a hole for a heightadjustable beam, equipped with a noserest with an area of contact seated on the nose of the person wearing the glasses.
3. Glasses according to the requirement 1 or 2, characterized in that the holes in the cross beam for the beams of heightadjustable shades and for the heightadjustable beam equipped with a noserest are provided with set screws.
Description:
Dazzlement Reducing Glasses Technical field The technical design applies to glasses, especially as protection of eyes from dazzlement. Protection of eyes is classified in accordance with the intensity of dazzlement and its starting direction.

Background of the invention The existing glasses protecting from dazzlement are mostly constructed as dioptric glasses where the glass or plastic softening light is attached to rims in front of both the eyes on the level that is approximately perpendicular to the level of vision. In case of these applications of dioptric glasses the eyes are protected from dazzlement within the whole field of vision. This fact does not allow the eye to react to the reception of beams of light from less lighted areas in comparison with areas with oversized light.

This condition unfavourable for eyes is settled owing to the glasses with a looking hole in the glasses of various designs, with a removable shade on dioptric glasses, by using glass in the glasses on the basis of polarisation filters, etc. The design is mostly based on a vertical position of the means protecting from dazzlement.

Summary of the invention Owing to the design it is possible to use one shade against dazzlement from areas above the horizon or below the horizon, or it is possible to use both the shades protecting eyes from dazzlement from both positions at the same time. The shades are adjustable depending on a person's need. The service area of the shade is not affected by the carrying rims as is the case of the majority of sunglasses and therefore the field of vision of eyes is integral.

Adjustability of the shades allows to shield the dazzling source of light, nevertheless this does not reduce visibility in the part of the filed of vision where it is not necessary to reduce intensity of the light.

Owing to the design of the rims with shades they can be used at the same time by the person wearing dioptric glasses.

Brief description of the drawings Fig. 1 shows the use of the shade when the source of light is above the horizon of eyes. Fig. 2 shows the use of the shade when the source of light is below the horizon of eyes.

Detailed description of the preferred embodiments The rims of glasses for shades against dazzlement have a cross beam with 5 vertical holes for beams. In the

middle of the cross beam there is a hole allowing to seat the glasses on a nose. It is possible to adjust the height of the glasses above the nose and stabilise the height by a set screw from the outside of the cross beam.

On both ends of the cross beam there are always two vertical holes for beams of the shades. These end holes are used for beams of the shade protecting eyes below the horizon of the eye level and two holes are used for beams of the shade protecting eyes above the horizon of the eye level. The height movement of the beams in particular holes of the cross beam allows to adjust the field of vision suitably against the source of dazzling light. The stability of the shade is secured by set screws on each beam.

Industrial applications Glasses with the shades of this technical design can be used for protection of dazzled eyes especially by persons working in traffic and also in other cases for the purpose of reducing light of high intensity.
