Abstract:
In one example, a client device for retrieving data with real-time constraints includes means for determining times during which the data will be available for download, means for determining a time at which the data is needed to fulfill the real-time constraints, and means for sending a request for the data and deadline information representative of the time at which the data is needed to fulfill the real-time constraints. In another example, a network element for transporting data with real-time constraints includes means for receiving deadline information representative of a time at which the data is needed by a client device to fulfill the real-time constraints, means for retrieving the data; and means for delivering the data to the client device such that the data is available to the client device at or before the time at which the data is needed.
