Description:
A DEBURRING APPARATUS

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a deburring apparatus which removes the burrs, existing on the front and rear side of bores formed by means of a drill and similar tool, via a single operation.

PRIOR ART

In industry, metals are processed by means of various methods for obtaining parts with a specific shape and dimension. For instance, various processes like metal welding, casting and milling are applied. These processes lead to formation of coarse protrusions at the part edges. These coarse protrusions formed at the edges are called burrs. A burr may be in the form of a thin wire at a sharp corner or may be in the form of a protrusion on the surface.

Burrs which occur at the bore edges after the boring process lead to problems in material bonding. Said burrs lead to formation of more pressure at the bore corners, reduction of cracking resistance and fatigue lifetime and moreover said burrs lead to increase of rusting risk since said burrs affect the coating thickness on coarse surfaces. Moreover, burrs which occur in the movable parts increase undesired friction and heating and increase the part changing frequency since the abrasion existing in the joining locations increases. For these reasons, deburring process is applied to the part after the bore formation process.

In the known state of the art, deburring process can be realized by means of various methods. One of these methods is the usage of deburring tools. Said deburring tools pass through said bore after the bore formation process and said deburring tools realize removal of the burr, occurring at the rear and front of said bore, by means of the blade provided at the end of said deburring tool.

In the literature, there is the patent application with number US6997655. Said application relates to a deburring tool and particularly relates to a deburring tool having a changeable cutting tool. Said deburring tool has a cutting head part defined at one end thereof and a clips part substantially defined to the other end of the cutting head which is at opposite side of the head part. However, in said application, there are two pins for fixation and removal of the cutting tool. One of said pins provides rotation and the other one of said pins provides springback. However, when the cutting tool is desired to be changed in this structure, assembly difficulty or erroneous fixation may be faced in the connection to the pin locations because of the usage of two pins and moreover, cost increase may occur because of production of excessive parts.

As a result, because of all of the abovementioned problems, an improvement is required in the related technical field.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a deburring apparatus, for eliminating the above mentioned disadvantages and for bringing new advantages to the related technical field.

An object of the present invention is to provide a deburring apparatus which removes the burrs, existing on the front and rear side of the bores formed by means of a drill and similar tool, via a single operation.

Another object of the present invention is to provide assembling of the cutting tool to the deburring apparatus by using small number of parts and to provide assembly and dismantling easiness and to reduce labor and production costs.

In order to realize all of the abovementioned objects and the objects which are to be deducted from the detailed description below, the present invention relates to a deburring apparatus for providing removal of burrs at the front and rear sides of bores formed by means of a drill and similar tool and having:

a body,

at least one cutting tool positioned in said body,

a connection element connected to a connection housing provided on said body so as to be rested to at least one press extension provided at one end of said cutting tool,

at least one cutting protrusion provided at a position which is close to another end part of said cutting tool and which extends outwardly from said body through a cutting opening provided on said body for providing removal of burr. Accordingly;

in order to provide fixation of said cutting tool to said body and in order to provide outward and inward movement of said cutting protrusion through said cutting opening,

said deburring apparatus comprises:

a pin connected to the body at a position close to the middle point, a second arm provided at the cutting tool and at the continuation of which said press extension is provided,

at least one first arm positioned so as to form a bending space at a predefined distance between said second arm and said first arm and having a resting extension so as to rest to a base provided at said connection housing,

a pin housing provided between said second arm and said first arm and which is compliant to the form of said pin and connected so as to realize engagement of said pin. Thus, the cutting tool is assembled onto the body by using less material and the cutting tool is easily assembled and dismantled, and labor and production costs are reduced.

In a possible embodiment of the present invention, in order to provide engagement and placement of the pin into said pin housing, a throat, which has a narrower diameter than the diameter of the pin, is provided at the inlet of the pin housing and between the first arm and the second arm. Thus, the pin can be engaged and positioned to the pin housing.

In a possible embodiment of the present invention, the diameter of said pin housing is greater than the diameter of the pin. Thus, the pin can be easily rotated inside the pin housing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the subject matter deburring apparatus (1) is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect only in order to make the subject more understandable.

In Figure 1 , a representative lateral cross-sectional view of the subject matter deburring apparatus (1) is given. The subject matter invention relates to a deburring apparatus (1) which removes the burrs, existing on the front and rear side of the bores formed by means of a drill and similar tool, via a single operation. In said deburring apparatus (1), there is a body (10) and a body opening (11) provided on said body (10). At least one cutting tool (20) is positioned in said body opening (11).

In Figure 2, a representative lateral view of the cutting tool (20) provided in the subject matter deburring apparatus (1) is given. There is at least one cutting protrusion (21) at a position close to an end of said cutting tool (20). Said cutting protrusion (21) protrudes outwardly through the cutting opening (12) provided on said body (10) and provides removal of the burrs occurring at the front and rear of the bore where boring process is realized. At another end of said cutting tool (20), there is at least one first arm (22) and at least one second arm (23) such that there is a bending space (25) at a predefined distance. Said first arm (22) is longer than said second arm (23) for a predetermined distance. At least one press extension (231) is provided at the end of said second arm (22). At least one stop extension (221) is provided at the end of said first arm (22).

A pin (14) is connected at a location which is close to the middle point of the body (10) provided in the deburring apparatus (1). In order for the cutting tool (20) to be fixed to the body (10), a pin housing (24) is provided which is compliant to the form of said pin (14) between the first arm (22) and the second arm (23) provided in the cutting tool (20). As seen in Figure 2a, a throat (241) is provided at the passage part of said pin housing (24) provided on the first arm (22) and the second arm (23) side. The diameter of said pin (14) provided on the body (10) has a structure which is wider than the diameter of said throat (241). The diameter of said pin housing (24) is wider than the diameter of said pin (14). In order for the engagement of the pin (14) into the pin housing (24), the cutting tool (20) is engaged to the pin (14) through the bending space (25) provided between the first arm (22) and the second arm (23). At the point where the pin (14) arrives at said throat (241) part, it bends the first arm (22) and the second arm (23) and provides engagement. Since the diameter of pin housing (24) is wider than the diameter of the pin (14), the pin (14), engaged to the pin housing (24), can easily realize rotational movement. As the pin (14) is engaged to the pin housing (24), the cutting tool (20) is fixed into the body (10).

Moreover, there is a connection housing (13) on the body (10). As seen in Figure 3a and 3b, the base (131) of said connection housing (13) may be closed or may have a bored structure comprising a step. Said stop extension (221) provided at the end of the first arm (22) stops to the base (131) provided in said connection housing (13).

A connection element (30) is connected to said connection housing (13). Said connection element (30) stops onto the press extension (231) provided at the second arm (23) of the cutting tool (20). Said connection element (30) provides adjustment of the outward and inward movement of said cutting protrusion (21) through said cutting opening (12). As the connection element (30) moves towards the inner part of the body (10), the cutting protrusion (21) moves outwardly through the cutting opening (12). As the connection element (30) moves towards the outer part of the body (10), the cutting protrusion (21) moves in the inward direction of the cutting opening (12). The adjustment of the movement of the cutting protrusion (21) to the inner part and to the outer part of the body (10) is provided since said first arm (22) and said second arm (23) behave like spring. Entry of the cutting protrusion (21), whose movement adjustment is completed by means of the connection element (30), into the inner part of the body (10) and afterwards protruding of said cutting protrusion (21) from the outer part of the body (10) in order to remove the burr existing behind the bore, are realized since the part of the cutting tool (20) from the pin (14) towards the cutting protrusion (21) bends like a spring as seen in Figure 4. Moreover, in order for the cutting protrusion (21) to pass through the bore easily, inclination (211) is provided at the two end parts of the cutting protrusion (21).

In accordance with the structural details and figures, the usage and the functioning of the present invention are as follows; the cutting tool (20) is advanced so as to be in an approximately orthogonal position towards the body opening (11), provided on the body (10), from the end where a first arm (22) and a second arm (23) are provided. The bending space (25), provided between said first arm (22) and said second arm (23) and provided in said cutting tool (20), is engaged onto the pin (14) connected to said body (10), and said cutting tool (20) is continued to advance. Afterwards, the pin (14) passes through the throat (241), provided between the first arm (22) and the second arm (23), by bending the first arm (22) and the second arm (23), and the pin (14) is placed into the pin housing (24). After the pin (14) is placed to the pin housing (24), the cutting tool (20) is rotated in the pin (14) axis and is placed into the body (10) so as to be in the same axis with the body (10). After the cutting tool (20) is placed into the body (10), the connection element (30) is connected to the connection housing (13) provided on the body (10). Said connection element (30) is stopped onto the press extension (231) provided at the end of the second arm (23) and adjustment is provided so as to provide protruding of the cutting protrusion (21) through the cutting opening (12) outwards the body (10) and so as to provide entry thereof into the body (10). The deburring apparatus (1) which makes rotational movement by means of a drive element is guided towards the bore which is to be deburred. The cutting protrusion (21) which contacts the front surface of said bore removes the burrs in this part. During movement in the inward direction through the bore part, the cutting protrusion (21) moves inwards the body (10) through the cutting opening (12). This movement of the cutting protrusion (21) is realized since the part of the cutting tool (20) from the pin (14) until the cutting inclination (211) bends like a spring. After said body (10) passes through said bore which is to be deburred, said cutting protrusion (21) again passes to free position and advances outwardly through said cutting opening (12). Thus, the rear part of the bore is deburred. The cutting protrusion (21) can easily pass through the bore thanks to said inclination (211) provided at the two end parts of the cutting protrusion (21). In case it is desired to change the cutting tool (20), first of all, the connection element (30) is removed from the connection housing (13). Afterwards, the cutting tool (20) is rotated in the pin (14) axis so as to be substantially orthogonal to the body (10). The pin housing (24) provided on the cutting tool (20) is drawn and removed from the pin (14). Thus, the cutting tool (20) is easily removed from the deburring apparatus (1) and the new cutting tool (20) is assembled, and labor and production costs are reduced.

The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments under the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
