Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a likelihood initialization unit (110) that executes processing of initializing a memory element for likelihood information to be used for likelihood calculation of iterative decoding processing; a first likelihood calculation unit (120) that executes M steps of likelihood calculation from step 1 to step M in likelihood calculation of the iterative decoding processing, M representing an integer greater than or equal to 2; a second likelihood calculation unit (130) that executes M steps of likelihood calculation from step M+1 to step 2M in likelihood calculation of the iterative decoding processing; a hard decision unit (140) that executes hard decision for the result of likelihood calculation to generate a decoded bit sequence; a frozen bit removal unit (150) that removes, from the decoded bit sequence, frozen bits and a bit sequence, which is based on the code length of a bit sequence to be decoded, to generate a decoded information bit sequence; and a control unit (160) that controls likelihood calculation of the iterative decoding processing. The first likelihood calculation unit (120) and the second likelihood calculation unit (130) execute one or more steps of likelihood calculation iteratively.
