Abstract:
Provided is a decoding device that comprises a decoding part that, on the basis of received encoding system information, decodes a plurality of pieces of encoded data that have been produced by encoding each of a plurality of sections of a haptic signal and are included in received bitstream data. The encoding system information is information that indicates which of a plurality of encoding systems has been used to encode each of the sections of the haptic signal. The plurality of encoding systems include a simple haptic encoding system that corresponds to a simple haptic signal that pertains to a beginning section of the haptic signal. The plurality of pieces of encoded data include simple haptic encoded data that has been produced by encoding the simple haptic signal using the simple haptic encoding system. When the encoding system information indicates the simple haptic encoding system, the decoding part decodes the simple haptic encoded data.
