Abstract:
For each row of a parity-check matrix, a check-node process unit (56) updates an extrinsic LLR on the basis of an a priori LLR with respect to inputted data. From an element that corresponds to the updated extrinsic LLR and is specified by a row and column of the parity-check matrix, a specification unit (60) specifies a new element in a different row of the same column, said new element being the element in the same column which is to be updated next by the check-node process unit (56). When the check-node process unit (56) finishes per-row updating, a variable-node process unit (58) updates an a priori LLR on the basis of an extrinsic LLR with respect to the specified new element. The check-node process unit (56) and variable-node process unit (58) repeatedly execute said processes in alternation.
