A decontamination system (10) for water contaminated with radioactive substances, the system being configured so as to be provided with: a first pressure flotation device (20) that adds a coagulant to seawater or river water contaminated with radioactive substances, that causes floating matter or dissolved components to be adsorbed at the interface of fine bubbles, and that floats and separates the floating matter or dissolved components; adsorption sponge pieces (50) that comprise a small piece of open-cell foam that is mixed with diatomaceous earth that is filled with Prussian blue and has carbon nanotubes entwined around the outside thereof; and a flow tank device (40) that retains the adsorption sponge pieces (50) and primary treated water from the first pressure flotation device (20) for a fixed time period, that causes radioactive substances to be adsorbed on the adsorption sponge pieces (50), and that causes radioactive substances in a secondary treated water that is output from the flow tank device (40) to be adsorbed on the adsorption sponge pieces (50).
