Abstract:
A decorative white alloy, characterized in that it comprises 3 to 20 % of Cu, 2 to 10 % of Ag, and the balanced amount of Pd, or in that it comprises 3 to 20 % of Cu, 2 to 10 % of Ag, at least one of 0.5 to 3 % of Au and 0.5 to 3 % of Pt, and the balanced amount of Pd. The above decorative white alloy is free from or reduced in the following problems associated by conventional decorative white alloys, that is, those that Pt or its alloy is high in the price of the metal itself and also has a great density, and thus one piece of Pt or its alloy product is apt to become thinner or smaller; in white gold, i.e. an Au based alloy, a Ni type white gold has a problem of metal allergy and a Pd type requires an Rh plating owing to its blackish or yellowish color tone; and Ag or its alloy has a problem of discoloration by sulfuration.
