Abstract:
A defect inspection method has: a first step of generating an ultrasonic vibration in a test object by applying a high frequency signal to a plurality of coils that are arranged to be mutually adjacent in a partially overlapping manner in an electromagnetic ultrasonic probe; a second step of receiving bottom echoes of the electromagnetic ultrasonic probe with each of the plurality of coils; a third step of receiving flaw echoes of the electromagnetic ultrasonic probe with each of the plurality of coils; a fourth step of correcting the signal strength of the bottom echoes received with each of the plurality of coils on the basis of the operational status of the plurality of coils; and a fifth step of calculating the ratio of the flaw echo signal strength to the corrected bottom echo signal strength for each of the plurality of coils, and evaluating internal defects of the test object on basis of those calculation results.
