Abstract:
Welding defects in all types of products can be detected at an early stage.
A defective electrode detecting device used for a workpiece made of a laminated aluminum alloy comprises: a reflected light collecting unit for collecting reflected light of light waves scattered from a welding region; an infrared light collecting unit for collecting infrared light; each sensor unit for extracting the reflected light and infrared light having predetermined wavelengths from the light waves collected in each collecting unit, converting the extracted lights to electric signals, and transmitting the electric signals to a welding state determination processing unit (11); and the welding state determination processing unit (11) for monitoring each of the signals during the time that elapses before the welding region has been solidified. The welding state determination processing unit includes a control and calculation means for monitoring the detected intensities of the reflected light and infrared light on a per time basis, an output means, and a storage means. When the peak value of the detected intensity of the reflected light after a predetermined time of 2 ms has elapsed is a predetermined threshold value of 20 or more, the welding state determination processing unit determines an abnormality as a "visible defect" if the peak value of the detected intensity of the infrared light is a predetermined threshold value of 0.6 or more and as a "invisible defect" if the peak value of the detected intensity of the infrared light is less than a threshold value of B.
