A defrosting control system and method of a refrigerator, includes a controller (9), a circulating fan (1), a defrosting temperature sensor (6), a temperature sensor (7) of a refrigerating chamber, a temperature sensor (8) of a freezing chamber and an environment temperature sensor (12). The circulating fan (1) is set at one side of an evaporator (2). An air inlet of the freezing chamber and an air inlet of the refrigerating chamber are set in the air duct where the circulating fan (1) lies. An electric damper (3) for the air inlet of the freezing chamber and an electric damper (4) for the air inlet of the refrigerating chamber are separately set in each air inlet. An air outlet of the freezing chamber and an air outlet of the refrigerating chamber are set in the air duct of the other side of the evaporator (2).An electric damper (5) for the air outlet of the freezing chamber is set in the air outlet of the freezing chamber. By use of temperature difference and heat exchange, said control system and method can not only defrost the evaporator but also cool the refrigerating chamber. The energy consumption is reduced and effective utilization rate of energy is improved.
