Abstract:
A defrosting heater (20) for melting frost deposited and accumulated on a cooler. The defrosting heater (20) has a glass tube (23), a heater wire (21) constructed from a metal resistance body and installed inside the glass tube (23), plugs (22) where lead wire insertion holes are formed and covering openings at both ends of the glass tube (23), and lead wires (24) passing through the lead wire insertion holes (22a) and connected to end sections of the heater wire (21). Projections (22b, 22c) are provided on the inner wall surface of the lead wire insertion hole (22a) of a plug (22), and because of the projections, the diameter of a lead wire insertion hole (22a) is smaller than the outer diameter of the lead wire (24). In inserting the lead wire (24) into the hole, the projections seal the gap between the plug (22) and the lead wire (24), preventing outside air from entering from the gap to prevent corrosion and breakage of the heater wire (21).
