Title:
DEINOCOCCUS RADIODURANS HAVING GOLD NANOPARTICLE SYNTHESIS ABILITY, AND METHOD FOR REMOVING RADIOACTIVE IODINE BY USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/088712
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for removing iodine by using Deinococcus radiodurans having a gold nanoparticle synthesis ability and, more specifically, to a method for causing radioactive iodine to be adhered to gold nanoparticles synthesized within Deinococcus radiodurans cells and removing the same. According to the present invention, a strain having improved radioactive iodine removal ability can selectively remove, with a high efficiency of 99% or greater, radioactive iodine present in various types of solutions, thereby being very useful in the removal of radioactive iodine generated in large hospitals, industries, nuclear accidents, and the like.
