Abstract:
A demineralizer (47) comprises: an electrodialysis section (2) including an anode chamber (8) provided with an anode (7), a cathode chamber (10) provided with a cathode (9), and a soft water chamber (5) which separates the anode chamber (8) from the cathode chamber (10) by a cation-exchange membrane (diaphragm) (3) and an anion-exchange membrane (4) and is filled with an ion exchanger (11); an anode water circulation channel (20) having a water storage section (19) for storing anode water and an anode water circulation pump (18) and circulating the anode water concentrated in the anode chamber (8) by supplying a current to the anode (7); and a cathode water circulation channel (25) having a deposition/removal section (24) for depositing and removing the hardness components in the cathode water and a cathode water circulation pump (23) and circulating the cathode water concentrated in the cathode chamber (10) by supplying a current to the anode (9); wherein the membrane can be prevented from being clogged with hardness components by circulating the cathode water concentrated in the cathode chamber (10) by means of the cathode water circulation pump (23) and removing the hardness components contained in the cathode water at the deposition/removal section (24).
