Abstract:
Tip fitting recesses (22) are formed on both sides of the front end of a movable jaw (4) provided so as to be openable and closable relative to a stationary jaw (3). Shear tips (23) for shearing an object (A) to be cut are respectively fitted in the tip fitting recesses (22) and affixed by bolts (30), and the shear tips (23) cut the object (A) in cooperation with shear blades (12, 15, 16) attached to the front end of the stationary jaw (3). The outer wall (32) of each of the tip fitting recesses (22) is provided with: a first flat surface (33) tilted outward relative to the inner surface (23a) of the shear tip (23); a sloped surface (34) tilted in the opposite direction to the first flat surface (33); and a second flat surface (35) substantially parallel to the inner surface (23a) of the shear tip (23). The shear tips (23) are each provided with: an abutment surface (38) in surface-abutment with the second flat surface (35); and a braking surface (39) facing the first flat surface (33). A shear reaction force applied to the shear tips (23) when the object to be cut is cut is borne by the entire first flat surfaces (33), and this prevents stress from concentrating on the front ends of the outer side walls (32).
