Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a dental handpiece control device that is able to prevent jolting of the technician holding the dental handpiece and of the patient being treated, and to limit motor heat generation by reducing the load thereof. The rotational direction of the motor (20) of the dental handpiece is switched at a regular time interval. In so doing, the voltage applied to the motor (20) is reduced before the rotational direction of the motor (20) is switched by the switching of a relay (17), thereby keeping large currents from flowing into the motor (20) when the relay (17) is switched and keeping large rotational torques from being applied on the cutting tool that is being rotated by the motor (20).
